Lauren Hartunian, MS

Office:

Hi, my name is Lauren Hartunian, a therapist working with children, teens, and adults (ages 5+), helping build practical skills, and create meaningful change in their lives. My approach is direct yet compassionate. I meet all my clients where they are while offering supportive challenges along the way to encourage deeper thinking, and growth. I focus on helping clients build tools they can use in everyday life.

I use a diverse set of skills, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing (MI), person-centered, and solution focused techniques. What this means is you are the expert of your life – to support you we will explore how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected, to navigate challenges in a healthy way. We will explore what your own internal “spark” is and how to create personal goals. Regardless of where you are starting, we will work at your pace to build a life that feels more balanced, and uniquely yours. When working with young children I use play-based interventions so they are able to express emotions, process experiences, and develop problem-solving skills in ways that feel natural. I also work with parents/caregivers to offer strategies in support of their child outside of the therapy room.

I have a strong background in working with individuals experiencing substance use addiction. I approach this work with empathy, and zero judgment. I understand the impact addiction has on individuals and their loved ones. I focus on supporting clients and families with their healing – one step at a time.
